The main reason we took the fight to Iraq has nothing to do with Hussein and all his UN violations.
We simply knew Russia had problems fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan it's their turf and since we are not allowed to simply bomb the area and level it. (thank Congress, UN and all those who never thought we should have fought back) We took the fight to the flat land of Iraq to get them to fight on are turf.
If everyone in congress would just shut up and let our military do what it is capable of we might never have gone into Iraq but when Congress steps in to make military decisions for them we end up with what we've had in the past NAM 2. You cannot fight a battle when you have to ask permission to fire back.
